Fun at the Fair

Yesterday was kids day at the fair, so I took the boys for the whole day. They had $10 wristbands and they could ride all day as many times as they wanted. I only got a few pics of them on the rides b/c my camera battery died. Riley also did the pedal pull, he has done is for the past 3 years. Carter did not want to do it, maybe next year. Then Riley also got a chance to do the money tank, where they put you in a box and the money flies around in there and you have to try and catch it, he made $3, he was happy with that. We also checked out all the animals. We had a great time, the weather was great and the rain stayed away, but I was exhausted by the end of the day and we had an early bedtime.

Riley doing the pedal pull, he was so excited and a little competitive, he got 2nd place (beat by a girl :)) out of 7 kids in his age group.

Riley on some of the rides before my camera died :(

Riley wanted me to take a picture of these pigs b/c he said that they were hugging like mommy adn daddy do in bed.... to the best of my knowledge he has never seen mommy and daddy "in bed" :)

Checking out and petting some of the animals

1 month old

I can't believe it!.... My little baby boy is already 1 month old. The last 4 weeks have flown by, adjusting to a newborn again and trying to figure out his needs and what he likes. So far his favorite toy is sitting in his bouncy seat, least favorite is the swing. He loves listening to me talk- he stares at me so intently and I love staring into his blue eyes! He smiles alot in his sleep, but is getting close to giving me a real one while hes awake. He likes to be cuddled to sleep-this I'm having the toughest time with ( not the cuddle part, just taking a while and then fussing after I lay him down) especially in the morning-hes hard to get to sleep, unless he dozes off during a feeding. But in the afternoon he falls asleep right away and sleeps the whole afternoon/evening , then is awake for awhile before bed and he gets up twice a night to eat and then goes right back to sleep. So we have somewhat of a schedule, but enough with the ramblings...I will leave you with a picture of him enjoying the outdoors.

A Week of Firsts

This past week Levi has done a few things for the first time, not developmentally, but activites and he is only 3 weeks old. He went on his first boat ride and rode in the dunes for the first time too while we visited my sister up at Silver Lake. He also had his first chiropractic visit. I will admit I was a bit nervous, the other boys go with me too, but they are older and not as fragile, but it went fine. He also "saw" his first movie, UP at the theater. I went along with my mom and my brothers 4 kids. He slept through some of it, but woke up to eat and then was wide awake. Mom and I each took a turn out in the lobby- we didn't want to disturb the others watching it. Little stinker!

Just a few random photos. He's getting so big. He will be 4 weeks old on Sunday, time is going fast. He is still a good baby, just has a few gas issues. Hes starting to be more awake during the day and he is getting up twice a night to eat but he goes right back to sleep.
Its so nice having a child that can take good pictures for me, so that I can actually be in some of the pictures.

Silver Lake

This past Saturday John was home, so we headed up to Silver Lake to visit with my sister at their cottage. It was a beautiful day. We went up into the dunes were the men all rode around in the Jeep climbing hills until the Jeep broke :( and then the kids went swimming in Lake Michigan while us ladies worked on our tan. Later we took a boat ride around the lake and the kids played at the island for a bit before heading back and sitting around the fire and eating s'mores. YUMMY! We headed home late, and of course all my men fell asleep on the way home. (I was driving, John does it for a living so he gets sick of it, so when were together I usually drive) We had a really fun day. Can't wait to head up there again!

The boys in their goggles getting ready to go climb some hills in the Jeep. ( look in the background its an Astro van. I dont feel so silly anymore with our family car up there)
Sitting in the dunes watching people climb the hill and playing in the sand. We even had the Yukon up there. I felt silly having a family vehicle up there, but its better than the Astro van we saw up there!

Playing in lake Michigan. Water was a little chilly but they did not care

Riding out on the pontoon boat to the island to play in the shallow water out on the big lake

My sisters kids and my boys. Poor Maddie is the only girl in the group!

Muddy Mess

Last night the boys occupied themselves for hours turning there sandbox into a big mud puddle. They had lots of fun and were VERY dirty!! After a hose down they headed into the bathtub to get clean.

Holiday Weekend

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We did not do a whole lot or go anywhere. I did get to welcome a new nephew on the 4th of July, Maxwell Owen. He is so cute and him and Levi are only 2 weeks apart so, they will be good buddies. John was home most of the weekend, we went and saw the Transformers movie (which was really good in case you were wondering) together and then out to dinner while my mother watched all 3 boys, so that was nice to get out, plus I got to enjoy a drink after going 9 months without, it tasted so good! On Sat. we headed out to my parents house on the farm so that Riley had more room to ride his dirtbike around. Then we enjoyed a nice steak dinner while we were there. We did not go and see any fireworks but we bought a few and did them at home, which the boys really enjoyed and thought were the best even though they all do the same thing. Otherwise things are going well, still adjusting to life with a newborn + 2 other boys and John has been gone for most of the week again at work, so for the most part I'm doing it solo.

This is what Levi did all weekend with a little bit of eating, pooping, and awake time in between
While Riley was riding his dirtbike, Carter was helping grandma water her flowers. Maybe next year Carter will be riding around on the dirtbike.

Riding his bike around at grandma and grandpa's farm. They have alot more space than in the city. He rode it for hours, it was the first time that he had all his gear on too (thats b/c it all finally fits, we have had it since he was 4) I really wanted him to take of the training wheels but he did not want to.

Just realizing looking at this last photo that he is standing/looks just like his dad when he used to ride, scary!
